Daniel Amokachi has been announced as the first assistant to Super Eagles Head Coach, Finidi George.

This decision marks Amokachi’s return to the backroom staff having previously held this position under the late Stephen Keshi.

Now, he assumes the role in Finidi George’s new technical crew, as confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation.

In addition to Amokachi’s appointment, the NFF disclosed plans to integrate two foreign assistants into the coaching setup.

This move aims to fortify the team as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against South Africa and Benin Republic.

Furthermore, Abideen Baruwa maintains his position as the team’s goalkeeper trainer, ensuring continuity and stability within the coaching staff.

The unveiling of Finidi George by the NFF, on Monday, signals a new era for the Super Eagles, with expectations high for a successful campaign under his leadership.
