Ahead of his side’s Europa League semi-final clash against Bayer Leverkusen this Thursday, AS Roma’s manager Danielle De Rossi said they’re wary of the danger posed by Victor Boniface and co.

De Rossi’s side welcome the Bundesliga Champions for the first leg of the tie insides Stadio Olimpico.

Both Boniface and Tella played integral roles in Leverkusen’s squad and have significantly contributed to Leverkusen’s success this season.

So far this season, Boniface boasts five Europa League goals and a total of 17 across all competitions, while Tella has netted six goals.

“They have strong players put in the ideal conditions to do well,” De Rossi said. “They have a physical, solid team, but they also have great quality. Wirtz, Grimaldo.”

“Schick has always been strong, but now he is a man. Boniface is strong. They have strong replacements,” said the Roma coach.

He added, “If Frimpong doesn’t play, Tella plays. They have quality players but also great skill. They know how to play, but they also know how to be direct. They have built a really strong team thanks to the coach’s ideas but also thanks to important signings.

“There’s everything to fear. The way they play, they have a long streak of results. I respect their coach a lot. They have more work behind them with the same coach. There’s a lot to fear. One thing to respect is that they are unbeaten despite often going behind.”

Both teams met at the this stage last season, with Roma advancing to the final 1-0 on aggregate.

AS Roma are currently unbeaten in five of their last six matches in all competitions, while Leverkusen remain unbeaten across all competitions.
