Premier League side, Nottingham Forest is actively pursuing a permanent deal for Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom and will try for him in the summer transfer window, as reported by Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Tricky Trees had initially aimed for a loan move in the winter transfer window, but negotiations for Akpom fell through.

Forest’s original offer included a £14m payment to Ajax if they secure Premier League status with the player’s contribution.

Akpom, who joined Ajax for £12m last summer, has scored nine goals in 20 appearances for the Dutch giants and has expressed his desire to return to the English top-flight.

Forest Manager, Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on bolstering Forest’s attacking options for the upcoming season.
