Moses Simon defends Super Eagles Star amidst Criticism in Cote d’Ivoire

Super Eagles Winger, Simon Moses has defended teammate Victor Osimhen following the Striker’s lack of goals in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Osimhen’s pre-tournament hype owing to his emergence as the African player of the year, has not been met after three games.

 

The 25 year-old endured a frustrating outing in group phase as he netted just once in three games, and was also guilty of missing numerous big chances.

“We have one of the best strikers in the world which is Victor Osimhen,” Simon told Friday press conference.

“People are asking questions why he’s not scoring, but I want you all to know that we play as a team, win and lose as a team.

“Anyone can miss chances, I was also guilty of missing a great a chance (against Guinea Bissau). He’s not the only one on the pitch.”

Meanwhile, Moses Simon has also backed the team to discover their scoring form when the face Cameroon on Saturday.

“It’s our responsibility to score goals and hopefully, we’ll get more against Cameroon,” He concluded.
