We Don’t Fear Osimhen — Cameroon’s Rigobert Song

Indomitable Lions boss Rigobert Song says his defenders are not afraid of facing reigning African footballer of the year Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen is expected to lead Nigeria’s attack against the Indomitable Lions as both sides battle for quarter final slot at the ongoing African cup of Nations.

Although Osimhen hasn’t settled into the tournament properly, but he remained Nigeria’s biggest attacking threat.

The Napoli forward has had 13 shots and created four chances in the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations group stage, the most shots and chances created combined of any Nigeria player.

It’s the most by a Nigeria player in an AFCON group stage that Opta has on record since 2010.

“He’s the best player in Africa. We know his value and worth . We respect him, but don’t fear him.” Song said when asked about the prospect of facing the Nigeria’s most dangerous attacking weapon.

Osimhen has one goal in three games for Nigeria in the tournament so far.
