As the Super Eagles gear up for a showdown against Cote d’Ivoire at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, stressed the importance of his players being at their best.

After the 1-1 result against Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria will face Cote d’Ivoire in their second match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles cannot afford to lose as it could throw teir campaign off track, and Peseiro insists the team understands the importance of the game.

“We are expecting a great match, full stadium, fantastic atmosphere as well. We need to play with good organisation, be impactful in our approach and express ourselves.,” the Coach said in his prer-match presser.

“We also have to improve from the first match. It is important for us to maintain our style and enjoy the game. We must also defend well and convert our chances.”

“Cote d’Ivoire is a very good team, good organisation, good coach and good players,” he added.

“But we want to win and we will do everything within our capacity to come out victorious.”

Cote D’Ivoire lead Group A with three points, while the Super Eagles are joint third with a point.
