The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the 2023 African Cup of Nations after a hard fought 3-2 win over Sierra Leone in Monrovia on Sunday.
A first half brace from Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen put the Jose Peseiro’s side in firm control of the tie.
The game however took a dramatic twist within a few minutes as the Leone Stars drew level with goals from Mustapha Bundu and Augustus Kargbo.
Kelechi Iheanacho ensured the Super Eagles avoided another embarrassing results against the lowly rated side by scoring the winner in stoppage time of the added time.
The Leicester City forward tapped home a low cross from FC Porto’s full back Zaidu Sanusi.
The victory returned the team to the top of the table, in addition with AFCON tickets.
The Super Eagles will now face Sao Tome and Principe in the final fixture.
