Iwobi Demands Reaction from Super Eagles After Shock Defeat to Guinea-Bissau

Alex Iwobi says the Super Eagles must show a positive reaction and prove Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau was a blip.
The midfielder was in action as the three-time African Champions suffered their first defeat of 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
The Eagles gave a flat performance at the Moshood Abiola’s Stadium in Abuja and were deservedly punished by Mame Balde, who got the only goal of the game.
“First and foremost, as players and staff, we know we have to react to this result,” Iwobi said in the post-match.
“All we can do is to improve and to all the fans, all I can say is that they should stick by us and support us because we give 100% not just for ourselves, but also for our nation.
Next time we are going to do our best and make the country proud.
“We know we are privileged to wear the shirt, there are a lot of people who want to be in this position.”
Iwobi added : “I don’t think we played under pressure. Like the coach said, they scored with the only chance they created in the game.
“There is always pressure at this level, we can handle it.”
Super Eagles will face same opponents on Monday.
