Marshall Munetsi, captain of the Zimbabwe National Team, has emphasized that qualifying for
the World Cup would be a more significant achievement for the Country than for Nigeria.
In the pre-match presser ahead of Tuesday’s encounter Munetsi stated, “obviously Nigeria is much more bigger country in terms of football, but you know Zimbabwe qualifying for the World Cup will probably be a more historical thing for us than Nigeria qualifying so that’s why I think all the guys want to do something historical.”
“I think it’s going to be a good match for football so I hope you guys also enjoy and also know
that we are not here just for holiday but we are here also to try and make our own history by all
means necessary”, he added.
Munetsi concluded by saying, “for us above all we would take it as a more serious game and try
to get maximum points.”

The 28-year-old midfielder has featured in 35 games for Zimbabwe since his debut in 2018.
He scored Zimbabwe’s opening goal in their recent 2-2 draw against Benin Republic.
The Warriors currently sit at the bottom of the CAF World Cup Qualification Group C, having
failed to secure a victory in their first five matches, which include three draws and two losses.
