Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi clinched his first career trophy as FC Porto defeated Benfica 2-0 to lift the 2020 Portuguese Super Cup on Wednesday night.
Sanusi, who joined Porto from Santa Clara back in the summer, played the entire duration of the match at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro.
The victory over arch-rival Benfica means, Sanusi’s Porto are now the most successful team in the history of the competition, winning the title 22 times.
Oliviera gave the Sergio Conceicao’s men the lead from the penalty spot in the 25th minute before Diaz sealed the victory in the 90th minute.
Porto are still running for the league title and Portuguese cup on the domestic scene, and they are also through to the Knock out phase of the money-spinning UEFA champion league.
