Zaidu Sanusi off to Flyer in the UCL

Zaidu Sanusi was in action as FC Porto started their 2023/2024 European campaign with a comfortable win over Shakhtar Donestk on Tuesday night.

Sanusi started the match as the Portuguese giants secured a 3-1 away win against Shakhtar.

The victory marked his 22nd appearance in the UEFA Champions League since joining Porto from Santa Clara.

However, the left-back was later substituted during the second half  making way for Brazilian defender Wendell.

The goals for FC Porto were scored by Brazilian winger Wenderson Gelano, who netted a brace, and Mehdi Taremi.

Gelano opened the scoring just eight minutes into the match, but the lead was short-lived as Kevin Kesly equalized for the Ukrainian side.

Porto quickly responded with Gelano finding the back of the net again, securing his second goal of the game.

Mehdi Taremi then added a third goal for Porto in the 29th minute, sealing the victory for the visitors, and ensuring they left the Volksparkstadion with all three points.
