French Ligue One side Lille have expressed gratitude to Victor Osimhen for his services at the club and wish him all the best in his next adventure.
The 21-year-old Nigeria striker finally became a player of Napoli on Friday after agreeing on a five-year contract with the Serie A club.
The Ligue 1 side in a statement on their official website, said he’s always welcome at the club whenever he wants.
The statement with reads, “Thank you Victor” read : “The LOSC is proud to have counted in its ranks a player and a man like Victor Osimhen, who demonstrated in the Lille jersey as much talent and ambition as humility and professionalism. The club thanks him for all the emotions offered under his colors and is satisfied to have been able to support his progress and participate in his development at the highest level. Have a good trip, Victor. You will obviously always be welcome at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.”
Osimhen joined Lille from Charleroi last summer and he went on to score 18 goals and recorded four assists across all competitions to help the club secure Europa league ticket.
His performances for the club earned him the 2020 Marc Vivien Foe award for the best African player in France, he was also named in the French league one team of the season.
He also wrapped up the campaign with Lille player of the season award.
