Enyimba head coach Yemi Olanrewaju has expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance after securing a 2-0 win over Lobi Stars in a midweek NPFL fixture.

Olanrewaju emphasized that the victory was crucial for maintaining the team’s confidence following their recent success in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they advanced to the group stage.

“It is good, we are happy to get the three points. That is what is important for me honestly. This is a league, it’s a marathon. So every game is important,” Olanrewaju stated.

He noted that despite some sloppiness, which he attributed to the fatigue of continental competition, the team performed well, particularly in the first 20 minutes when they could have added more goals.

Olanrewaju also highlighted Lobi Stars’ resilience, having expected a tough match after their recent loss to Rivers United. “Any team that loses at home comes into the next game ready to fight for redemption,” he said.

Enyimba now turns their focus to their next fixture against Rivers United, with Olanrewaju eager to build on the team’s momentum.
