“Yellow Greens hope to step up against Canada at T20 qualifiers”- Nigeria Cricket Federation PRO

NCF PRO, Musa Ehizogie believes the Nigeria senior male cricket team ‘the Yellow Greens’ will use positives from the loss to Jersey in the first Group game of the ongoing 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier against Canada in their second group game today as they keep hope alive to pick a ticket for the world cup.

“ We had a late preparation to this tournament but playing against the elite is tough, but we cannot blame anybody, any team can beat another but we look at the positive and move intop our next game hopefully we can right our wrongs”.

He also disclosed that the Federation charged the team to do the impossible and qualify, using the U19’s cricket team who qualified against all odds to qualify for the U19 2020 world cup in South Africa as inspiration for their campaign at the tournament.

“As a Federation we want to win always but we will take baby steps and try to actualize this dream, the mandate to the team is to qualify and there’s still a chance to qualify but if that does not happen we can rate ourselves if we’re moving in the right directions.”
