Yaya berates current situation of Nigerian Basketball League

Nigeria’s D’Tigers and Abidjan Basketball club of Ivory coast player Abdul Yaya has berated the current state of Nigerian league basketball.

Yaya who last played for Rivers Hoopers of Port Harcourt before seeking pastures new in Ivory coast due to the moribund nature of the top-flight league in Nigeria says in a chat with www.brila.net that the clubs and players have all been idle in Nigeria and nothing seems to be coming their way at the moment which is bad for the image of Nigerian basketball.
“There is nothing going on, there is no club in Nigeria right now. There is nothing going on in Nigeria Basketball. The only thing you see on Facebook you see all the international players that were not born in Nigeria.
All the international players outside. No matter what we need to have a league in our country but we don’t have.”
