Former Barcelona midfielder, Xavi Hernandez is already tipping Paris Saint-Germain to win the Champions League ahead of both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The retired Spanish international, Xavi believes the Parisians will qualify from their top-of-the-bill contest with Los Blancos in Europes’ top-tier competition.
Meanwhile, Madrid is still a whopping 19 points behind rivals and runaway league leaders, Barcelona on the La Liga standings.
In-spite of the Galacticos perilous form on the home front, though, they have reached the last 16 of the Champions League.
Furthermore, the La Liga heavyweights are optimistic of carting home the European diadem for a third season on the trot.
And they will play host to an in-form PSG in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
Xavi, the Catalan outfit’s legend on his own part also picked up the UEFA Champions League trophy four solid times.
He has now said that while he is anticipating a much better Madrid, run-away Ligue 1 leaders, PSG deserved favoritism.
“I think PSG are a spectacular team that is made to win the Champions League,” the skillful player informed RMC.
“But it’s not good to face Madrid at the moment because I believe it will be a very strong tie.
“Despite that, though, I think the favourite is PSG and that is simply because of their form at the moment.
“This is a semi-final, not last 16 and I feel that there was no luck in the Champions League draw.
“Everyone knows Madrid has the DNA of victory and more in this competition but sooner or later, PSG will win.
“But Madrid will show their best in the Champions League because as I said, they have the DNA of victories,” Xavi concluded.
