World Cup winner Del Piero reveals why Napoli won’t allow Osimhen leave

Italian Legend, Alessandro Del Piero believes Victor Osimhen is a special striker and he has special qualities that sets him apart from others.

Osimhen dominated the Serie A with Napoli this season, netting 22 goals, including the title winning strike in the 1-1 away draw with Udinese at the Dacia Arena.

The 24-year-old is leading the race for Capocannoniere and he also set new goals record by an African player in an Italian top flight campaign.

“What more can be said about Osimhen, this extraordinary player, a symbol of the modern striker?” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia.

“He has managed to improve during the season. He has some particular characteristics that I love, such as courage, determination, the hunger to score and to do well.

“It doesn’t matter whether he misses three chances or scores three goals, because he will start the very next move with the same level of determination.”

The former Juventus forward said the Nigerian has experienced tremendous improvement since arriving Italy from Lille three years ago.

“He has improved during the season following Spalletti’s guidance and the way Napoli play is good for him too. I must say that Napoli with Osimhen is a team for the title, whereas without him it becomes more difficult.

“I think that makes clear the importance of a player who has won everyone over.”
