Nigeria’s U17 women national team, the Flamingos, were beaten by Turkish First Division side Fenerbahçe in a friendly as they prepare for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
Bankole Olowookere’s girls were beaten 3-1 in their last game of the tour of Turkey.
The World Cup bound team failed to replicate the form that saw them defeat Galatasaray last weekend, in a game that ended 3-1.
In the latest game, Flamingos went behind after thirty-five minutes through Busan Seker’s goal and she added a second in the 80th minute.
Etim Edidiong, who scored a brace against Galatasaray, pulled one back for the Flamingos in the 90th minute but Nina Kpaho killed any hope of comeback with the third goal for Fenerbahçe in the third minute of stoppage time.
The team will now depart the town of Kocaeli for India, venue of the tournament where they’ll face Germany, New Zealand and Chile in Group B of the World Cup.
