Iceland will be without midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson when they face Mexico and Peru in pre-world cup friendlies later this month.
Iceland qualified for their first ever world cup appearance and will play against Argentina, Nigeria and Croatia in group D at the tournament.
However, the preparation for Strákarnir okkar hit a snag when EPL club, Everton, announced that Iceland talismanic midfielder, Sigurdsson will be out of action between 6 and 8 weeks.
The 28-year-old picked up a knee injury at the weekend in PL game against Brighton and is effectively out of the friendlies against Mexico (24 March) and Peru (28 March).
