World Cup 2018: We’re not Afraid of any Team – Sanusi

Nigeria FA Bosses are talking tough and fancy the Super Eagles will come through the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

On Thursday FIFA announced the pots head of the group stage draw for next summer’s tournament but the potential of facing the heavyweights of world cup does not faze NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi.

Sanusi told Babafemi Raji on Brila Fm’s Sports Machine that the Super Eagles will be ready to play and compete at the world cup.

“Firstly, we want to thank the fans for their support through the qualifiers and the friendly match we just played.

“With regards to the announcement of the Pots, we are confident that the team will do very well and we are not afraid of any team.”

Nigeria is in Pot 4; by virtue of the FIFA World ranking for October, and is faced with the possibility of getting drawn against world Champions, Germany or five-time winners Brazil.

The Eagles were ranked 5th in Africa and 41st in the global ranking within the said period.

Only Morocco ranked lower that Nigeria of the five countries representing Africa at the tournament.

The Final Draw will take place on Friday 1 December at Moscow’s State Kremlin Palace.
