Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has achieved a significant career milestone, making his 200th appearance in the English Premier League for Leicester City.
The Nigeria international reached this landmark during Leicester’s thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Southampton last weekend.
Since joining Leicester City in 2017, Ndidi has also competed in prestigious European competitions, including the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League.
By reaching 200 Premier League appearances, Ndidi joins an elite group of Nigerian players to hit this mark.
He becomes the ninth Nigerian to do so, with the full list led by Shola Ameobi (298), Nwankwo Kanu (273), Alex Iwobi (261), Yakubu Aiyegbeni (252), Mikel Obi (249), Joseph Yobo (228), Victor Moses (220), and Victor Anichebe (205).
Kelechi Iheanacho who left Leicester in the summer transfer is close behind with 196 appearances.
Additionally, Ndidi has become Leicester City’s fifth all-time Premier League appearance maker, trailing behind club icons Jamie Vardy (315), Kasper Schmeichel (276), Marc Albrighton (224), and Muzzy Izzet (222).
With Leicester, Ndidi was part of the team that won the 2021 FA Cup, the English Super Cup in the 2021/22 season, and the English Championship in the 2023/24 season.
Enjoying a strong season with Leicester, Ndidi extended his contract by three years at the start of the campaign.
So far, he has contributed one goal and four assists, highlighting his importance to the team.
