Super Eagles defender, Kevin Akpoguma has explained the choice of extending his Hoffenheim contract comes from a personal space.

Akpoguma had a year left on his desk with the Bundesliga Club, but instead of seeking new markets and cashing in on free agency, the RB opted to stay put.

He signed a new two-year extension with Hoffenheim, keeping him at the club until the summer 2026, and he has admitted the deal was a no-brainer.

“I love this club and there was no question for me that I would like to play football here in the future,” the Nigerian stated.

“This is my club, TSG is extremely close to my heart; even in times that were difficult for me personally, those responsible always believed in me.

” I’ve developed a close bond with TSG and the entire region and I want to give something back by extending my contract. Anyone who knows me knows that I will always give my all for this club.”

The 28 year-old played 28 matches for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last season.
