Former Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh has showered praise on Ademola Lookman, commending the forward for his impressive qualities and consistent performances for both club and country.
The 26-year-old has been in sensational form this season, adding another goal to his tally during Atalanta’s 3-1 victory over Parma on Saturday.
Lookman’s stats underline his impact, with nine goals and five assists in just 15 matches so far.
The 27-year-old brilliance has earned him widespread recognition, with many tipping him as a strong contender for African Footballer of the Year.
On the international stage, Lookman made his mark during the 2023 AFCON, contributing three goals and one assist in his debut tournament.
His contributions were pivotal for Nigeria, cementing his status as a key player in the Super Eagles setup as they reached the tournament final.
Oliseh, a former Super Eagles coach, has joined the chorus of admirers, praising Lookman’s technical abilities and execution on the field.
“Ademola Lookman is a great player,” Oliseh stated. “Why I find Lookman to be a great player is because I’m looking at the qualities, the characteristics that are needed to play the position Lookman plays and how he executes them.
“He doesn’t execute them at five out of ten, he doesn’t execute them at six out of ten, he executes most of them at 7.5, 8 out of ten, so that’s why I say he’s a great player.”
Lookman’s achievements this season extend beyond his national team contributions.
At the club level, he made history in the Europa League by scoring a hat-trick to secure Atalanta’s 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the final, a performance that will remain unforgettable in the competition’s history.
