“We’ve Come to Beat Nigeria” – Ghana Coach Dramani

Black Galaxies head coach, Didi Dramani, is optimistic that his team will overcome perennial rivals Nigeria to secure a place in the 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN.

The second leg of the CHAN qualifier between the West African giants will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.

The first leg in Accra ended in a goalless draw, with Ghana dominating possession and creating several chances but failing to convert. Despite the missed opportunities, Dramani remains confident that his side can turn things around in Uyo.

Speaking during a press conference, Dramani expressed belief in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion.

“We created far more chances and were unlucky not to score. No need to cry over spilt milk,” Dramani said.

“Tomorrow (today) is another opportunity to get the goals we need and qualify for CHAN. It won’t be easy as there is never any clash between Nigeria and Ghana that can be easy.”

Dramani also acknowledged the strength of the CHAN Eagles, but he stressed that his team would focus on an attacking approach to secure victory.

“The Super Eagles team is a good one and we have to take our game to another level. We will play an attacking game.

Football is about scoring; even when you’re consciously soaking up pressure, you’re still looking to go on the counter and score. Our objective is to qualify for the final tournament,” he added.

The Black Galaxies will be looking to replicate their strong performance from the first leg, while the CHAN Eagles aim to take advantage of their home ground.

Saturday’s clash promises to be a thrilling encounter as both sides battle for a place in the 2024 CHAN tournament.
