Arsene Wenger has charged Alex Iwobi and his Arsenal teammates to rise to the occasion on Thursday when they host league leaders, Manchester City in the premier league.
Iwobi played only 17 minutes in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final which Arsenal lost 3-0, and Wenger has told his players to move on from the defeat.
Speaking in his pre-game presser on Wednesday, the Arsenal Manager urged the team to respond, go out and win.
“Well, when you do not get the result, it’s part of our job. Part of our job is to respond and to focus on the next game.
“You want only to win games, it’s not always possible, so it’s the way you respond. I believe that [we need to] analyse well, focus on the next one and respond together in a united way, which his part of our philosophy at the club.”
Arsenal are currently sixth in the table and 27points behind the Cityzens, but a win will keep a top four finish hope alive – as they are currently 10 points behind fourth place Spurs.
