Falconets Captain Tosin Demehin is disappointed with their shock exit from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
The Falconets lost 2-0 to the Netherlands in the quarter-final clash played in Alajuela on Sunday.
Falconets conceded twice in the first half, following terrible defensive organization at the back.
Although the team improved in the second half, it was too late as the Dutch held on to their advantage and sealed passage to the last four.
In her reaction, Demehin stated that the team fell short of their target, but will learn from the bitter experience.
“This is not how we wanted to end the competition but we have to accept, learn from it, and grow.”
“The experience and exposure were needed too. Super proud of the Team. Thank you all for your good wishes and support”. She said.
The Falconets won all their Group C games but succumbed to the well-organized Dutch girls.
