We won’t underrate any team in Egypt, says Ighalo

Super Eagles and Shanghai Shenhua striker, Odion Ighalo has revealed that he and other members of the national team won’t be carried away by their seemingly easy group ahead of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

Nigeria are in group B, housed with Burundi, Guinea and Madagascar in the continental showpiece.

Despite many football fans in the country stating that the Super Eagles will pick up all maximum points on offer in the group, Ighalo speaking with www.brila.net added that there are no pushovers in African football, and as such, won’t take any team for granted.

“It’s not a bad group, it’s a decent group but we won’t get carried away”.

“There are no pushovers in Africa as there are a lot of surprises in football now so we just want to keep working and building and see how far we go”.

“I know and strongly believe that we have what it takes to do well at the AFCON”, he concluded.

Ighalo, who emerged as top scorer during the qualifiers with seven goals, will be looking to finish as top scorer in Egypt, as well as fire Nigeria to glory.
