Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr expect his team to struggle in the absence of Premier League players in the crucial World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde.
Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Oghenekaro Etebo, William Troost-Ekong and Alex Iwobi are expected to sit out of game due to the Covid-19 rules made by the Premier League.
The Premier League Clubs unanimously agreed to imposed a strict COVID-19 regulations that will prevent some players travel to Cape Verde, due to the high risk of the virus.
Rohr said he is expecting a tough game against Cape Verde, because he won’t be able to count on the Premier League players for the tie.
“All our midfielders will not be there. Our central defence also will not be there. So it will not be easy against a very difficult team like Cape Verde,” Rohr quoted by Daily record.
Rohr’s team wi be aiming to kick off the World Cup Qualifying campaign on a positive note when they take on Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Friday.
