Austin Eguavoen is confident that his Super Eagles side will finish off the Black Stars in Abuja and qualify for the FIFA World Cup.
The first leg playoff between the Black Stars and Super Eagles played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday ended in stalemate.
Speaking after the game, Eguavoen stated that, he knew the Ghanaians aren’t push overs, because they have quality players.
“I keep saying the Ghanaians are not push overs, because they have good players and we will keep giving them their respect and I’m very sure they gave us respect as well. Nigeria-Ghana is always rivalry.”
“We wanted to get a win but it is important not to lose,” he said.
Ahead of the second leg, Super Eagles technical adviser added that, his aim is to help Nigeria qualify for the World Cup and not thinking about that previous results between both sides.
“Let’s forget about what happened in 1973, I was only three years old then, but I could remember that Amodu Shaibu came here, got a draw and then hammer Ghana in Port Harcourt. So let’s stick with the recent.”
“We will try win in Abuja and qualify for the FIFA World Cup”. He said.
