In preparation for Bayelsa queens trip to Akure of the 28th of August, Chairman of Bayelsa Queens Ebiki Timimi has hinted on his team’s commitment to retaining the title.
The former Bayelsa United captain urged his players to center their attention to themselves and maintain the side’s current momentum.
Speaking with thenwfl.com, he hailed his side and their resilience in picking up maximum points against tough opponents.
“In recent weeks, the Restoration Girls have faced Nasarawa Amazons, Sunshine Queens and Kaduna Queens and have triumphed with the nine maximum points”.
With Bayelsa Queens set to play their next game against Sunshine Queens in Akure, Timimi has instructed his players to kick on and have their heads in the game till it’s all over.
“Now we are on top of the log, but the league is very tough. For us it is important to continue to push and explore the more”.
“We are in a very difficult group and want to retain the title we won last year, that means we have to remain as strong as we were in the first round”.
“Nasarawa Amazons and Sunshine Queens won’t give up just yet, that simply means we have to keep pushing”.
Bayelsa Queens are in the Group C of the NWPL with five points clear off both Nasarawa Amazons and Sunshine Queens and in thirteen days, they will head down to Akure to face the ‘Owena Mermaids’.
