Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to prioritize the signing of Victor Osimhen in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are enduring their worst top-flight campaign in over three decades.
Sitting in 13th place with 38 points, their season has been marred by inconsistency, tactical confusion, and a glaring lack of firepower up front.
Manchester United have managed just 37 goals in the PL this term, with strikers Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee combining for just six goals.

Ferdinand, speaking on his podcast, didn’t hold back.
“We need Osimhen, we need experience, we need someone who knows how to score, we need someone who can come and show these young strikers at Man United how to do it. If I’m Man United, I’m making it happen,” Ferdinand said.
To facilitate the move, he proposed a bold swap deal:
“I want someone who knows their way around the full pitch at the elite level and knows how to score at the elite level consistently. I want him here and now.
“Yes Osimhen hasn’t played in the Premier League but I don’t care, I think he scores wherever he goes.”
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has scored 28 goals and provided 5 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.
He was heavily linked with a Premier League move last summer, but Napoli’s €130 million release clause proved too steep.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has recently suggested that while Osimhen remains on United’s radar, the move remains uncertain due to his high salary demands and the overall cost of the deal.
