‘We Must Do Better’ – Iwobi Backs Fulham to Bounce Back After Wolves Defeat

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed his frustration following his team’s disappointing 4-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Despite Iwobi opening the scoring with a brilliant curling shot in the 20th minute, Fulham were unable to maintain their advantage, eventually succumbing to Wolves’ comeback.
Wolves equalized and dominated the match with goals from Matheus Cunha (brace), Joao Gomes, and Goncalo Guedes, leaving Marco Silva’s men searching for answers.
Iwobi, who has now scored three goals this season, admitted that the team struggled to maintain their intensity after conceding.
Speaking to Fulham’s official website, the 28-year-old shared his thoughts on the performance and the need for improvement.
“I’m not too sure. I feel like second half we didn’t have the same intensity as the first. That’s how goals quickly change games, and gave them the confidence to kick on,” Iwobi said.
“Even though they scored, we need to keep the same composure and remain calm, no matter what.
We struggled to dominate like we did, so credit to them, but we’re going to look at ourselves to improve.”
Iwobi emphasized the importance of consistency throughout the full 90 minutes, a key area Fulham will need to address moving forward.
“We have to play the game for 90 minutes. We weren’t able to keep the same form that we had in the first half, so we have to analyse and go again,” he added.
Looking ahead, the former Arsenal man is optimistic about bouncing back, with Fulham facing a tough trip to Tottenham Hotspur in their next Premier League fixture.
“We can’t dwell on this. We have to keep on going and push on. Obviously, games come thick and fast, so we can put it right in the next game.”
Fulham will hope to recover their form and secure a positive result when they take on fellow Londoners Spurs on Sunday.
