Gabe Nnamdi says he’s delighted to help the D’tigers secured a morale booster win over the United States of America.
Nigeria beat the star-studded Americans 90-87 in the pre-Tokyo 2020 Olympics exhibition game in Las Vegas.
Nnamdi led Nigeria with 21 points, followed by Caleb Agada whoscored 17 points on the night. Ike Nwamu also contributed 13 points as Nigeria outscored the U.S. 60-30 from the 3-point range.
The Nigerian side is dominated by little-known NBA players, but they found a way to beat a group of All-NBA, All-Star, and max-contract performers.
Reacting to the result, Nnamdi said the boys are just happy to compete against the best in the world.
“We just wanted to compete, We know what USA Basketball means around the world and what they’ve stood for so long.” He told the press.
Gabe Nnamdi, who is also known as Gabe Vincent is on the payroll of NBA side Miami Heat.
