Defender Leon Balogun said Rangers deserve to finish the season on celebration, following the recent dark cloud around the club.
The Gers had to overcome the death of kitman Jimmy Bell and Europa League final defeat on Wednesday to win the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
Balogun all the minutes as goals from substitutes Scott Wright and Ryan Jack scored in extra-time won the cup for Rangers for the first time since 2009.
“Extremely proud of the team and the fans. I think we had some dark few days, especially Wednesday night and yesterday with Jimmy’s funeral.“
“We played another 120 minutes and enjoyed the fight with happy end. We deserve to finish the season on high after all the knocks we received during season.“
“We wanted it badly because we deserve to finish the season with trophy.” Balogun told the press.
