Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye says the Super Eagles aren’t afraid of facing any team as they chase fourth African Cup of Nations title in Cameroon.
The Sparta Rotterdam shot-stopper stated this, in a chat with the press ahead of the 33rd African Cup of Nations holding in Cameroon.
Nigeria lifted the competition 1980, 1994 and 2013. This time, they will face stiff competition from the likes of Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, Morroco, Ivory Coast and hosts Cameroon.
“We have go to there and aim for the gold, aiming for something lesser would be dangerous.
“We are Nigerians, we are not afraid of facing any team, because we have quality players and some of the best in Africa ” he said.
The Super Eagles will open their campaign against tournaments heavyweights, The Pharaohs of Egypt in Group D on the 11th of January, before facing Guinea-Bissau and Sudan.
