We are ready for Al Hilal of Sudan – Eguma

Rivers United technical adviser, Stanley Eguma disclosed his side aren’t under pressure ahead of their clash with Al- Hilal of Sudan.

The pride of Rivers will host Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan in the CAF Champions League, 2nd Preliminary Round, First Leg at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

Rivers United is Nigeria’s only representative in the CAF Champions League, following the elimination of Akwa United and failure to defeat Al Hilal over the two legs, which means NPFL could lose a slot next season.

In a chat with newsmen, Coach Eguma said his wards aren’t under pressure and stated that they are ready for the task ahead.

“Akwa United is a good team despite the fact they lost, it is Football, they also planned to win but, unfortunately, they lost out.”

“We are still in the race, although it is a big task on us to deliver, we have to win to further keep Nigeria’s slot in the Champions League so that is what is firing us to make sure we do all we can to get a resounding victory and qualify to the next round”. He said.

The last time Al Hilal visited Nigeria, they lost 2-1 to Enyimba but advanced to the next round 4-2 on aggregate.
