Former Nigeria international and current coach of Tanzania, Coach Emmanuel Amunike has revealed ahead of his side’s second group game against Kenya that his players are well prepared and ready to get all 3 points in the encounter, terming it as a very important match.
The Taifa Stars lost 2-0 to Aliou Cisse’s Senegal in their opening game at the 30th June Stadium in Cairo.
The defeat means Amunike’s men will have to win against Harambee Stars who also lost their opener to Algeria, to get back in contention.
Having identified their errors against Senegal, Amunike, in a chat with www.brila.net, says they have worked hard in all aspects, while fully aware of the problems Kenya will cause his side.
“We have worked very hard in all aspects, from physical to the tactical as well as the technical aspect of the game, we have done that and we are ready”.
“Of course we are playing against one of the best teams in Africa, full of talents, but the most important thing for us is to be ready, prepared, psychologically, even from a mental and tactical point of view to be able to manage the game as well as achieve the positive result that we want”.
Tanzania is making a return to the tournament after 39 years, and they have never progressed to the knockout stage of the competition.
