Kada City football Club Midfielder Shola Collins, is delighted that the Club marked their debut in the Nigeria professional football league with a win over Gombe United in Kaduna on Sunday.
After emerging as champions of NFF Super eight play-off earlier this month in Aba, the Club proved that they deserved a place in the elite division with a 2-1 win over Ladan Bosso’s Gombe United.
Umar Muhammed scored Kada City’s first NPFL goal in the 19th minutes with Ibrahim Enesi restoring the parity for the visitors a minute later before Sadiq Suleiman wrapped up the three points for the Kaduna based team.
Speaking ahead of the team’s first away game of the season to struggling Abia Warriors, Shola Collins who’s the younger brother of Super Eagles left back Jamilu Collins told Brila.net’s Seyi Alao that they are happy to start the season with a win.
First of all have to thank God for the privilege, It was a great experience for me and Everyone, we are delighted to start our league adventure with a win”
The midfielder added that the game against Gombe United was a very difficult one for the young team as they struggle mentally to deal with the euphoria of playing at the top level.
“It was a very difficult game like our coach said but we knew that first game is always hard and moreover this is our first time playing in the Nigeria professional football league.” He stressed.
He, however, promised the Club fans a good outing against Henry Makinwa’s Abia Warriors on Wednesday.
