The last time a Nigerian caught the eyes of the world for a sublime solo goal in Europe was 24 years ago in Germany.
Jay Jay Okocha’s mesmerizing play and goal against German goalkeeper Oliver Kahn till today is a delight, even the victim still admits he feels dizzy from that goal.
Exakt 23 Jahre ist das sensationelle Tor von Jay-Jay Okocha heute her – und mir ist immer noch schwindelig…

But, on Thursday in the Europa League second leg tie between Rosenborg and 2016/17 finalist Ajax, another Nigerian set the pitch alight with an amazing Solo goal.
Samuel Adegbenro came off the bench to score a brace which eventually helped Rosenborg book a place in the group stage of the competition.
Ever the impact substitute, Adegbenro was introduced in the 68 minute on Thursday – same as the first leg and scored the winner – and he scored in the 80th and 89th minutes.
But it was the second strike that forced the entire Lerkendal Stadion crowd on their feet in obeisance to the 21-year-old.
The video was shared on twitter by @MesfoufKoshary with the accompaning tweet, “Nigeria’s Samuel Adegbenro with a brilliant solo effort for Rosenborg vs Ajax, the goal could see them thru to next round of EuropaLeague.”
