These are stranger days in France where some of the most jaw-dropping happenings in football have emerged from the Ligue 1 in the past Eight months.
First, it was the Marco Verratti ground-head passing with a yellow card for all his troubles. Then the transfer fee for Neymar – £198 [pinch myself] – that left the football world completely gobsmacked.
And now, strangely still in Paris a bizarre occurrence surfaced.
After his world record move from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar as well as the capacity crowd at the Parc des Princes on Saturday witnessed a oddly unusual spectacle – not quite so?
Well, it was the season opener for the Parisien club and they welcomed Ligue 1 newcomers, Amiens.
Though the game finished 2-0; with goals from Edison Cavani and Javier Pastore, it was the minnows who startled the crowd.
The newly-promoted side went straight for territory from the kick-off, launching the ball deep into PSG’s half instead of knocking the ball around themselves for a few seconds or so to all get a touch of the ball.
In a video shared on twitter by @90thMin , it showed the scenes from that Ligue 1 match, with the accompanying tweet:
