Napoli’s manager, Walter Mazzarri beamed with satisfaction as striker Victor Osimhen delivered a stellar performance, contributing significantly to Napoli’s 2-1 triumph over Cagliari.

The recently crowned African Footballer of the Year proved his mettle once again with a goal and a remarkable assist, leaving fans at the edge of their seats.

Osimhen’s involvement in Napoli’s second goal, scored by Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, was nothing short of extraordinary.

The Nigerian forward skillfully navigated through four Cagliari defenders, demonstrating exceptional ball control.

The 24-year-old held off six opposing players, then executed a precise pass from the by-line, allowing the Georgian international to find the back of the net at the far post.

“I am glad that he (Osimhen) and Kvara scored, because they were both looking a bit irritable.

“They needed to get back to being protagonists the way they were last season,” Mazzarri was quoted by Football Italia.

“I can’t blame the team for getting tense, as it felt like in the first half the goal was cursed. When strikers are not relaxed, they can make really simple mistakes.”​
