Fortune Bassey could be heading for the exit door at Viktoria Plzen, after just six months at the Club.

The West Bohemians brought the 24-year-old forward on a one-year loan in the summer with an option to buy from Ferencvaros, but he has struggled to make impact so far.

The Club appeared seem disappointed with his performance and are ready to cut short his loan deal to allow him return to his parent club, with just six months into the one year deal.

Boss, Adolf Šádek has no place for the attacker in his squad and left him out of the training camp in Spain, as the termination of the loan deal is being discussed.

“Not even forward Fortune Bassey, whose future is being decided these days, traveled to the training camp in Benidorm with the team,” Plzeň stated on the their official website as to why they did not take the forward to Spain.

Viktoria recently acquired another Nigerian, 20-year-old Rafiu Durosinmi, on loan with an option to buy, from Karvina, and reports claim his arrival means Bassey would be leaving the club.

Despite the issues around his future, Bassey started the match against Petřín, on Wednesday January 4, helping the club to 3-1 win.

Bassey has played 17 matches for Plzen this season, with his only goal coming in the 4-0 win against Zbrojovka.
