Victor Osimhen scored his fifth goal and second assist of the season as well as a consecutive man-of the-match performance in Lille’s 2-0 win over Strasbourg in a midweek Ligue Un match at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.
Osimhen scored in the 43rd minute to give Les Dogues the lead; taking his goals contribution to 7 in all competitions this season.
He was gifted the goal, after a defender’s howler in an attempt to stop a low cross fell kindly at Osimhen’s feet. The Nigeria dispatched calmly, beat the goalkeeper who was already floored.
Per whoscored.com rating, the Nigerian scored an 8.2 overall rating for this performance on Wednesday night – he registered 6 shots on target.
Former Chelsea forward, Loic Remy added a second for the hosts (64′), from an Osimhen assist. The duo combined well upfront, playing a one-two pass to set up the French International.
👏 Our 4️⃣th consecutive home win of the season.
