Arsenal are reportedly interested in acquiring a Forward
Osimhen’s departure from Napoli is imminent
Napoli have set a huge price tag on the Nigerian Forward
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has expressed a strong desire to join Premier League giants Arsenal during the upcoming transfer window, as reported by Gianluca Monti of La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Despite no formal approach from Arsenal, Osimhen is believed to have identified the London club as his preferred destination in the Premier League.
This decision aligns with Arsenal’s ongoing search for a quality striker, making Osimhen a potential target for the Gunners.
Earlier discussions between Chelsea and Napoli for a player exchange involving Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku failed to materialize, leaving the Nigerian forward’s future uncertain.
Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has set a steep €130 million release clause for Osimhen, indicating a willingness to wait for a suitable offer from a financially capable suitor.
However, Napoli seems unlikely to retain Osimhen for the upcoming season due to concerns over his escalating salary demands, which could strain the club’s wage structure.
Aside from interest from Premier League clubs, Osimhen has also drawn attention from France and Saudi Arabia, including Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
These clubs possess the financial muscle to secure a permanent transfer for the talented striker.
With Osimhen’s desire to play in the Premier League and Arsenal’s need for attacking reinforcement, the upcoming transfer window could be an intriguing period for all parties.
The striker is currently out with injury and will miss Nigeria’s FIFA World cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
