Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has revealed that conversations with his national teammate, Henry Onyekuru played a pivotal role in his decision to join Galatasaray.
Osimhen followed in the footsteps of fellow Nigerians Henry Onyekuru and Oghenekaro Etebo in signing for the Turkish giants.
Onyekuru, who had two stints with Galatasaray, won both the Turkish league and domestic cup during his time at the club.
The 25 year-old forward spoke about the influence Onyekuru had on his transfer.
“Henry Onyekuru is my friend. He played for Galatasaray and told me how great the club, the fans, and the people are here. So it was an easy decision for me.”
Osimhen joins Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli, expressing excitement about the move.
“When I heard about Galatasaray’s interest, it was an easy decision for me. I knew how big the club was and how much of a family it felt like. It has incredible fans.”
Eager to build a connection with Galatasaray’s passionate supporters, Osimhen added, “Now I hope that our fans will support me after every goal. I am waiting with excitement.”
The Nigeria international will look to make an immediate impact with the reigning Turkish Super Lig champions.
