Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen says he would like to win the Ballon d’Or.

Osimhen is one of the 30 players nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or.

He’s one of few Africans on the list, including Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Andre Onana of Cameroon, and Morocco’s shot stopper Yassine Bounou.

Although Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland, are the front runners for this year’s award, Osimhen remains resolute in his determination to claim the award before retiring.

“If one day I could get close to win it, that would be more than a dream come true for me.

The 24 year-old scored 31 goals across all competitions for Napoli last season, guiding the club to its first domestic triumph in 32 years.

“Just playing at this level is already amazing for me. If it comes, it comes,” the Nigeria international told Mario Balotelli’s Twitch Channel, Vox to Box on TV Play.

The winner of this year’s award will be announced on Monday, 30th October 2023.
