Victor Moses suffers Achilles injury, to be sidelined for six months

Spartak Moscow has announced that former Chelsea and Liverpool forward Victor Moses sustained a bad injury and could need surgery.

The Nigerian was injured during a league game against Ural over the weekend and the club confirmed in a press release that he’ll need surgery.

Moses was stretched off in the 33rd minute of the encounter and was replaced by Mikhail Ignatov.

The result of the MRI scan revealed he damaged his Achilles and will need surgery to correct the problem.

The news is a setback for Moses who has been arguably Spartak Moscow’s best player so far this season.

He has scored twice in three games this season and already has a man-of-the-match award to his name.

The former Nigerian international could now be out of action for at least six months.
