Victor Moses hopes to score many goals for Chelsea and has set a ‘Marcos Alonso Standard’ for himself in his bid to achieve that.
Moses, 27, became a Centurion at the English champions on Boxing Day in Chelsea’s 2-0 over Brighton – a game which Alonso scored the winning goal.
Alonso and Moses have been the spark in Antonio Conte’s famous 3-4-3 formation but, the Spaniard has enjoyed a far better goals return – notching five already this season.
Moses is yet to open his goal account for the Blues this season and was also three goals behind Alonso (6 goals) in the league last season.
Speaking about the lack of goals, Moses isn’t sweating it and he remains hopeful with the season just past the midpoint.
He told Chelsea.com that, ‘Marcos is banging them in, I missed a few games but that is not an excuse and we have still got a lot of games to go this season, and I will try to hopefully catch Marcos up,’ he laughs.
‘I will try to do my best and we will see what happens but I am delighted for Marcos, he is doing very well and scoring goals and helping the team as well.’
