Luton Town have signed former Chelsea and Nigeria international Victor Moses.

The 33 year-old wing-back joins the Championship club as a free agent after leaving Russian side Spartak Moscow earlier this summer.

Moses brings vast experience to the team, having won the EPL, Europa League, and FA Cup with Chelsea.

He also went on loan to several clubs, including Liverpool, West Ham, Fenerbahce, and Inter Milan.

Luton Town manager, Rob Edwards on the new signing, stated, “We think he’s someone who can provide some really good competition for us.

“He’s played for so many different clubs in different ways and shapes, and under different managers, so he’s tactically aware.”

Speaking about his decision to join Luton, Victor Moses said, “I had a few offers from Europe, but I said to my agent that I set my mind on staying over here, and here we are. I want to come here and enjoy my football, work hard for the club and the team, and get back to where we belong in the Premier League.”

Chelsea Success

In 2012, Moses transferred to Chelsea, where he enjoyed one of the most successful periods of his career.

He was a key player during this period, helping the team secure the league title and later the FA Cup in 2018.

Loan Moves and Resurgence

Moses found himself going on various loan spells, including stints at Liverpool, Stoke City, and West Ham.

After Conte left Chelsea, Moses rejoined his former coach at Inter Milan on loan in 2020, helping the club to a strong finish in Serie A.

Move to Spartak Moscow

After his time at Chelsea, Moses moved permanently to Spartak Moscow in 2021, where he has been playing in the Russian Premier League.

International Career

Moses has been an important player for Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles. He played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) victory and represented the country in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.

He retired from international duty after the 2018 World Cup, having earned 38 caps and scoring 12 goals.

Future at Luton Town

Luton Town, currently second from bottom in the Championship, are hopeful that Moses’ experience will help turn their season around.

They have only managed one point from four games following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Luton will face Millwall on Saturday in their first match after the international break.
