Victor Boniface Set to Make Bayer Leverkusen Return
211
Bayer Leverkusen’s manager, Xabi Alonso has confirmed that forward Victor Boniface is set to make his return to action after recovering from an adductor injury.
Boniface has been out of action since January when he underwent surgery to address the injury concern.
Having undergone rehabilitation, the 23-year-old Nigeria international has regained full fitness in recent weeks.
With his recovery complete, Boniface is poised to make a comeback in Leverkusen’s upcoming DFB Pokal semi-final clash against Fortuna Dusseldorf on Wednesday.
During a press conference, Alonso expressed his satisfaction with the team’s current fitness status, stating, “We have no injured players. Everyone could be available for the squad.”
He further highlighted Boniface’s impressive work ethic and determination during his recovery phase.
“Boniface could play a part in the game,” Alonso added. “He trained hard and came through it with a strong mentality. He can’t wait to be back on the pitch.”
The potential return of Boniface will undoubtedly boost Leverkusen’s attacking options as they get to the business end of a season.
